Corinne Glaves Scholarship in Business

Ms. Corinne Glaves, a native Kansan, graduated from Wichita State University in 1971 with a Bachelor of Arts in English language and literature. Looking back, she recognizes the value in having a solid understanding of business. Ms. Glaves spent nine years in the research and evaluation department of USD 259 working as an analyst. She feels strongly about quality education, saying once that “going to school is the best memory I ever had.”

Working as a volunteer docent at the Wichita Art Museum was a philanthropic endeavor Ms. Glaves especially enjoyed. As an extensive and lifelong traveler, she was involved in Friendship Force, an international cultural exchange program, and attended 25 Elderhostel programs around the world.

In her 80s, Ms. Glaves continues to manage her own business, consisting of commercial real estate and investments. A member of the WSU Foundation’s Society of 1895, she chose to establish the Corinne Glaves Scholarship in Business because she realizes that the need for business knowledge is important for any career field as well as personal financial success.
