COVID-19 Updates

March 26, 2020

A warm hello from your friends at the Wichita State University Foundation.

We hope you and your family are finding ways to adjust to the changes facing our world due to COVID-19. As we write to you, our team is missing our daily face-to-face interactions with our Shocker community. Whether in Wichita or Washington, D.C., you are an important partner to Wichita State’s success. Our team is working actively to find new ways to connect with you during this time of social-distancing. Beginning today (March 26), all of our activities will be done digitally and remotely.

Here is an update on what it looks like:

  • Due to the stay-at-home order issued by Sedgwick County, our office will not be open for document drop-offs. However, our staff will be active in a virtual way through email, our website, giving pages, and social pages.
  • Our development officers will be connecting with you by phone, email, or text. We want to check in with you and share Wichita State updates.
  • Be on the lookout for emails coming from foundation@wichita.edu. Our next issue of our newsletter, Horizon Now, will come out next week.
  • There have been a number of student emergency requests coming in due to COVID-19. We are activating a COVID-19 Student Fund this week. If you are able to give, visit at https://foundation.wichita.edu/shockersup

These recent weeks have been a period of great transition for our university as we navigate the uncertainty of COVID-19. If you want to learn more about what the university is doing, visit www.wichita.edu/covid19news

We look forward to reconnecting with you in person very soon. In the meantime, we hope this is a period of peace and good health for you and all of your loved ones.

Warmest regards,

Elizabeth King, President and CEO WSU Foundation
