AIFAM Scholarship

In 1981, Fred Shaw created the AIFAM Scholarship to be awarded to one male and one female student athlete enrolled at Wichita State University. During the 1970s and 80s, Mr. Shaw and his wife, Pat, grew their Godfather s Pizza franchise to be the largest in the U.S, consisting of 94 outlets in four states. In addition to their pizza business, known as AIFAM, Mr. Shaw also owned a wholesale company and opened several other restaurants including Bravo s and Elmo s Epicurean Express. After experiencing great success, the stores were sold back to Goldfather s in the early 1990s and Mr. Shaw left AIFAM. Since then, the AIFAM Scholarship has remained an essential form of support and encouragement towards academic excellence and superior athleticism at WSU.
