Al and Donna Littleton Endowed Golf Scholarship

The Al and Donna Littleton Endowed Golf Scholarship was established by the Littletons and their family and friends to celebrate the career of Mr. Al Littleton, a WSU alumnus and long-time WSU golf coach. Mr. Littleton served as head golf coach twice, from 1973 to 1982, and 1989 until his retirement in 1996. He earned the distinction of being the coach with the most wins in WSU Shocker golf history, at the time. In announcing the scholarship, Bill Belknap, the director of athletics at that time, said, Al has been a fixture in Shocker golf and will be sorely missed by everyone associated with the program. Both Mr. and Mrs. Littleton graduated from the University of Wichita in 1950. Mr. Littleton earned his bachelors in journalism, and Mrs. Littleton earned hers in sociology. They were both life members of the Alumni Association. The scholarship is awarded to a member of the men s golf team. Consideration is given to high school performance and college potential. The award is made without regard to financial need.
