Alan Yeary graduated with honors from Wichita State University in 1971 with a bachelor’s degree in mathematics. He used his education to enhance his long career as a computer programmer/analyst. Following retirement, he continued to pursue his interests in technology, science, politics and photography. Teresa Yeary, Alan’s sister, graduated from WSU in 1975 with a bachelor’s degree in anthropology and biological sciences. She also earned a master’s degree in biological sciences in 1983. She established this fund in Alan’s memory as a way to honor his life and his appreciation of education. The scholarship is awarded annually to a student enrolled in the Mathematics, Statistics and Physics Department.
