Alice A. Nye Memorial Baseball Scholarship

This scholarship was created in memory of Alice Nye, who died December 23, 2005 at age 94. Alice was married for 68 years to Paul Nye ’38 and the Nye’s farmed near Bluff City, KS, southwest of Wichita. The Nye’s had two children, Dr. Henrietta Logan ’61/’61, now of Gainesville, FL and John, who predeceased them. Alice was trained as a teacher at Park College and taught school for two years. The rest of her life was filled as a homemaker and helpmate on the family farm. She was a veritable jack-of-all-trades; comfortable baking cookies, rewiring a lamp, playing the organ at church or making a formal evening dress. Alice and Paul were long time supporters of the WSU Baseball program.
