Recognizing the impact Wichita State University has had on his life, longtime supporter and alumnus Kevin Clark and his wife, Andrea, established the Alumni Tradition Endowed Scholarship in 2009. The fund also honors the legacy of WSU in alumni families.
In his senior year at WSU, Mr. Clark was chosen by his peers as one of 10 Senior Honor Men and Women. He completed his bachelor’s degree in management in 1984. After graduation, Mr. Clark worked and continued significant community service in Wichita and Hutchinson, his wife’s life-long home. In 1998, he was recognized for his civic involvement by Intrust Bank when he was given their ‘Citizen of the Year’ award. Mr. Clark died in 2015.
Mrs. Clark began her 25-year career in nursing at the age of 19, when she earned her certified nurse aid credentials. In 1993, she completed the registered nursing program at Hutchinson Community College and, ultimately, earned her bachelor’s degree in nursing from Tabor College in 2010. Annually, Mrs. Clark trained more than 150 students in institutionally- and community-based classes to become certified nurse aides, medication aides, and home health aides in various areas extended and specialized care facilities in south central Kansas.
