Amie Montgomery Student Ambassador Society Endowed Scholarship
Amie Montgomery was a young woman who loved life and people. She found joy in the simplest of things, from smiles to sunsets. A recipient of a Wallace engineering scholarship, she came to Wichita State University and proved to be an exceptional student and person. A founding member of the Student Ambassador Society (SAS), her interest in assisting others led to her involvement with SAS: ‘I love people; I want others to experience what I have in my short time here (at WSU).’ A patient listener, she was also the ideal example of Christianity; reaching out to others with gentle words of advice.
On February 17, 1997, she was tragically murdered during a robbery. In 1998, the Amie Montgomery Student Ambassador Society Endowed Scholarship was created by her family and the Student Ambassador Society; a memorial to a short, but influential life.
