Amy Hollingsworth Blasi Scholarship in Dental Hygiene

Amy Hollingsworth Blasi was born on Aug. 3, 1967, the middle of five children. Raised in Manhattan, Kansas, Mrs. Blasi spent many summers in a dental office assisting her father, Dr. Jack Hollingsworth. It came as no surprise when she, too, decided to pursue a career in the dental field. After attending Kansas State University for three years, she worked briefly before entering Wichita State University’s Dental Hygiene Program. She quickly made an impression on her teachers and fellow students, winning the program’s top honor for students, the Golden Scaler Award, in recognition of excellence in clinical skills. She graduated in 1999. After graduation, she married Patrick Blasi and continued her dental hygiene career in Wichita.

Mrs. Blasi was known for having a zest for life and, above all, she was a loving daughter, sister, wife, aunt and godmother. Following her death in 2003, family members established the Amy Hollingsworth Blasi Scholarship in Dental Hygiene to honor her memory.
