Megan Debes Escalante Scholarship

An active student in high school, Megan Debes Escalante was unsure what she wanted to do when she started college. But those who knew her believed that whatever she decided, she would be unstoppable. After attending college while working full or part time for a few years, Megan decided to enter the Medical Technology program at Wichita State. She was determined to work hard to complete the program. After graduation, she began working at Clara Barton Hospital in Hoisington, Kansas. A friend to everyone she met, Megan was tragically killed in a car accident in 2011. This scholarship was established by the 2010 graduating class of Medical Technology to honor her memory. They sought to honor her strong work ethic, passion for learning and commitment to helping her fellow students. Awards are made to students in the Medical Technology program.
