Wilson K. Cadman Fellowship in Business

Wilson Cadman was a native of Wichita. Following his graduation from East High School, he joined the U.S. Navy serving in the South Pacific. He attended Wichita University on the G.I. Bill earning his industrial psychology degree in 1951. As a Student, he was active on campus serving as a member of the Delta Upsilon Fraternity. He was President and Chairman of the Board of Kansas Gas & Electric Company where his career spanned over 40 years. One of his many contributions to the State of Kansas was his leadership in the successful planning and implementation of the Wolf Creek Nuclear Generating Station, the state’s first nuclear power plant, which became operational in late 1984. He showed his commitment to the Wichita community through his service and affiliation with numerous boards and organizations. At Wichita State University he was a life member of the Alumni Association and served on the Alumni Association Board of Directors, the SASO Board of Directors, the Foundation’s National Advisory Council and the College of Health Professions’ Dean’s Advisory Council. He was recognized as a Distinguished Alumni and a Newcomen Honoree. And in 1986, he was honored by being named Executive of the Year by Financial World Magazine. Mr. Cadman died in 2016.
