Three alumni join WSU Foundation National Advisory Council

 

  The WSU Foundation National Advisory Council, which promotes the interests of Wichita State and the WSU Foundation, welcomes three new members to the volunteer organization. They are:

 

Shelli Herman

Shelli

   Shelli Herman earned a bachelor’s degree in social work from WSU in 1988. Her 1990 master’s degree in higher education administration is from Bowling Green State University. In 2010, Herman founded and became president of her own executive recruitment firm called Shelli Herman & Associates. Previously, she was with Gary Kaplan and Associates, another California-based executive search firm. After college, Herman worked in higher education at both Loyola Marymount and the University of Florida. At Wichita State, she has established the Shelli Herman Leadership and Achievement Scholarship. Herman is a life member of the WSU Alumni Association. As a student, she was a member of the Delta Gamma sorority. Herman is active in Junior League of Los Angeles, having served in many capacities and on its board. She also is an active member of both the Children’s Bureau and the Downtown Women’s Center of Los Angeles. Herman resides in Pasadena, Calif.

                       

John Tush

Josh Tush

   John Tush graduated from WSU in 1988 with a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering. He owns CertTech LLC, an engineering consulting firm, and is its chief engineer. CertTech performs engineering software test work and consulting for avionics and transportation manufacturers in the central United States. The firm is located in Overland Park and has business relationships with many facilities, including Los Alamos National Laboratories, Garmin International and Honeywell. Tush is an annual member of the WSU President’s Club and has been for numerous years. He established the John L. Tush Endowed Engineering Scholarship in 2004. Tush serves on the College of Engineering Industry Advisory Board. He remains active with the Shocker Athletic Scholarship Organization and is a men’s basketball season ticket-holder, often driving to Wichita from the Kansas City area for games. Tush is married to Cindy Bernauer. They live in Parkville, Mo.

 

Gary Farha

Gary

   Gary Farha received a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in finance from Wichita State in 1979. He obtained his Master of Business Administration degree from Michigan State in 1982. He also is a Certified Financial Analyst, and he serves on the NAC Investment Committee. Farha is president, CEO and energy entrepreneur at his company, CustomerFirst Renewables, a renewable energy company he began in 2010. His company provides economically and environmentally attractive electricity supply solutions to large businesses and institutions. His career has included leadership positions at Danaher Corporation, McKinsey & Company and KG&E/Westar. While a student at WSU, Farha was a member of Sigma Alpha Epsilon fraternity, the Alpha Kappa Psi Business Honor Society and Interfraternity Council. He lives with his wife, Susan, in Potomac, Md.
