ZE PowerGroup Inc., developer of an award-winning data management software called ZEMA, has given complimentary use of the software to Wichita State. ZEMA will be used by students in the new Koch Global Trading Center, a simulated trading facility located in Clinton Hall.

ZEMA supplies its users with advanced data management and analysis capabilities of the energy and commodities industries. The gift is valued at more than $175,000 a year.

“Every day, trade and risk professionals in energy and commodities companies worldwide use the ZEMA solution to make strategic sense of large volumes of market and internal data,” said Aiman El-Ramly, chief strategy officer at ZE. “We at ZE are excited to be able to offer this capability as a learning tool to the next generation of industry leaders. Our donation of the ZEMA software is part of our corporate commitment to support academic research and promote education.”

ZE has donated numerous user licenses to WSU students and will also provide training and assistance to the faculty to help them teach students to use ZEMA. As a result, WSU students can access ZEMA’s extensive data library, as well as its analysis and curve management, giving them an applied learning experience in commodity and financial trading.

“We at WSU want to express our sincere gratitude to ZE for their generous gift toward the professional development of our students,” said Timothy Craft, associate professor and director of the Koch Global Trading Center. “By using industry-grade tools, our students will be able to receive relevant, hands-on trading experience to better equip them to become skilled leaders in the workforce.”

ZE is a software and strategic consulting firm that combines energy industry expertise with advanced software development capabilities. The company, headquartered in British Columbia, Canada, developed ZEMA to meet the challenges of energy and commodity market participants.
