Meet Jerry Aaron ’63 – member of the Promise for the Future campaign

Since the launch of the Promise for the Future campaign, we have been publishing the thoughts of our cabinet members regarding planned giving, WSU and their personal philanthropic philosophies. Please continue reading future issues of Horizon to meet more members.

To learn about the campaign, co-chaired by Cindy ’77, ’85 and Barry Schwan, read the cover story of the 2010 Summer Horizon on the WSU Foundation’s website.

“I chose to provide WSU with my revocable trust because it is flexible and provides a vehicle to make bequests upon death by balancing family, religious, educational and community priorities.”

Jerry Aaron

Jerry Aaron ’63, retired senior vice president/counsel of Lone Star Steakhouse and Saloon and member of the Promise for the Future campaign cabinet

Based upon Wichita State University’s proved experience in being able to adapt to change, as evidence by its development of key partnerships with the business community, I am very confident for the future of WSU.

In the short term, my gift will continue to provide WSU with a viable scholarship. At this time, I want to continue to fund and increase the value of our scholarship.

After meeting the needs of your family, I feel is it important to “give back” to the institution that molded you. WSU provided me with an opportunity to receive a college education while working, and a vehicle to maintain lifelong relationships.
