L.A. Wall Endowed Scholarship/Modern and Classical Languages and Literature

Dr. Lillian A. Wall retired in 1979, professor emeritus from the department of modern and classical languages and literature at Wichita State University. As part of the WSU faculty from 1963-1979 with her specialty being Spanish, she served on various state committees of foreign language and was president of the Kansas Foreign Language Association and American Association of Teachers of Spanish. Concerned with students ‘being hampered by the need to work’ while pursuing studies and student teaching, she established a scholarship through her estate. The L.A. Wall Endowed Scholarship in Modern and Classical Languages and Literature assists students majoring in Spanish, French or German by providing funding for travel to Mexico or France in a study abroad program or tuition during the teaching semester. Dr. Wall passed away in 1999.
