Open Positions
- Event Strategy & Planning
- Lead the planning and execution of donor events in collaboration with the Sr. Director of Donor Experience.
- Develop comprehensive event briefs outlining objectives, target audiences, messaging, and logistical needs to ensure alignment across teams.
- Identify opportunities to enhance event processes and elevate the donor experience.
- Event Executive and Logistics
- Coordinate all event logistics including venue selection, vendor management, catering, audiovisual needs, décor, timelines, and run-of show development to ensure seamless execution and high-quality donor experience.
- Represent WSUFAE and Wichita State University professionally at all events.
- Support select alumni-focused events aligned with the broader organizational goals, as needed.
- Budget & Vendor Management
- Manage event budgets by tracking expenses, processing contracts, reconciling invoices, and ensuring events remain within approved budget.
- Work with external vendors to negotiate services and ensure contractual obligations are met.
- Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement
- Collaborate with development officers to ensure events align with donor cultivation, stewardship, and recognition strategies.
- Partner with marketing and communications, decisions sciences, and other WSUFAE teams on event-related communications, including invitations, signage, invite lists, RSVP tracking, and post-event follow-up.
- Maintain clear and consistent communication with the Sr. Director of Donor Experience regarding event status, timelines, and outcomes.
- Identify opportunities for improvement in processes and event experiences.
- Coordinate and lead planning meetings with internal stakeholders and external partners to confirm event details, roles, and expectations.
- Data Reporting & Continuous Improvement
- Complete post-event summaries documenting attendance, engagement metrics, survey results, and final budget reconciliation.
- Utilize databases and tracking tools to support accurate reporting and informed decision-making.
- Asses event outcomes and recommend improvements to enhance donor engagement and operational efficiency.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor’s degree
- Minimum of three years of event planning or equivalent experience
- Experience with high-caliber, high visibility events preferred
- The ability to handle multiple tasks with organization and accuracy
- Experience working with databases
- The flexibility to work early mornings, late evenings and occasional weekends

- Corporate Partnership Development:
- Collaborate with the Decision Sciences team to identify, qualify, and prioritize potential corporate partners.
- Develop and maintain a pipeline of prospective corporate partners through research and networking.
- Collaborate with the AVP of Principal Giving, Sr. AVP of Corporate Partnerships, and the Director of Grant Development to create and execute strategies for donor engagement including networking and outreach.
- Cultivation and Solicitation:
- Manage and grow a portfolio of corporations to achieve giving goals.
- Develop and implement personalized cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship strategies for corporate prospects.
- Collaborate with the marketing and communications team to create high-quality communications with corporate partners through customized proposals, presentations, and engagement activities.
- Build and maintain meaningful relationships with corporate prospects through personalized outreach, meetings, and events.
- Develop tailored cultivation and solicitation strategies for each corporate prospect based on their interests and capacity to give.
- Lead or assist in the coordination of corporate partner solicitation efforts, ensuring that appropriate steps are taken in the donor journey.
- Gift Solicitation and Closing:
- Actively work towards meeting established annual targets and objectives, collaborating with team members to ensure cohesive efforts.
- Develop and execute strategies to secure financial support in alignment with both individual, team, and WSUFAE’s fundraising goals.
- Lead the solicitation of corporate partners in your portfolio and close contributions that support WSU’s priorities.
- Stewardship and Engagement:
- Increase donor engagement and commitment with corporate partners.
- Ensure timely and effective stewardship of corporate partners through personalized communication, updates, and recognition.
- Coordinate with donor engagement team on special donor recognition events.
- Attend donor meetings, events, and internal and external functions to represent the organization and strengthen donor and corporate relationships.
- Administrative Duties:
- Develop and manage an annual budget for fundraising activities and professional development.
- Develop annual fundraising goals and objectives in conjunction with WSUFAE’s goals.
- Maintain accurate computer and paper files as necessary.
- Perform any other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor’s degree from accredited institution
- Three years or more major gift ($50,000+) fundraising or business development experience
- Strong understanding of corporate needs in areas such as workforce development, innovation, and research
- Exceptional interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trust and credibility with internal and external stakeholders
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities, meet challenging and changing deadlines, and develop and execute sophisticated strategies for securing transformational gifts.
- Strong analytical skills, with the ability to use data to inform decision-making.
- Willingness to travel with occasional weekend and evening work
- Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license and insurance

- Collaborate with the Data Sciences team to identify, qualify, and prioritize potential major gift donors.
- Develop and maintain a pipeline of prospective donors through research, networking, and outreach.
- Collaborate with the Senior Director of Development for Engineering and other senior leadership to create and execute strategies for donor identification.
- Cultivation and Solicitation:
- Manage and grow a portfolio of individual donors to achieve giving goals.
- Develop and implement personalized cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship strategies for a select group of high-net-work donors.
- Collaborate with the marketing and communications team to create high-quality communication with major and principal donors through customized proposal, presentation, and engagement activities.
- Communicate and be the liaison between assigned college/departments and WSUFAE by coordinating prospect identification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship with college dean.
- Build and maintain meaningful relationships with prospects through personalized outreach, meetings, and events.
- Develop tailored cultivation and solicitation strategies for each donor based on their interests and capacity to give.
- Lead or assist in the coordination of gift solicitation efforts, ensuring that appropriate steps are taken in the donor journey.
- Gift Solicitation and Closing:
- Actively work towards meeting established annual targets and objectives, collaborating with team members to ensure cohesive efforts.
