Guests attending this year’s Fairmount Society dinner on Aug. 19 included some of Wichita State University’s most generous supporters, as well as the 2021 Fairmount Founders’ Award recipients, Clark and Sharon Bastian.
The event, held at Mark Arts, is hosted by the WSU Foundation each year to honor and thank members of its most exclusive giving club, the Fairmount Society. The event also recognizes those individuals and organizations who have reached the highest giving tiers: Lifetime, Lifetime Distinction and Lifetime Achievement.

About 165 people attended the 2021 Fairmount Society dinner at Mark Arts.
WSU student Jose Nepius, recipient of the Don and Elizabeth King International Scholarship, shared with those attending the Fairmount Society event his story of coming to the United States from the Dominican Republic to achieve his educational dreams.
