Notable news at the WSU Foundation

New staff members

The WSU Foundation recently hired new team members. Please welcome:

 

Katie Link

We are thrilled to welcome Katie Link to the Foundation as the Director of Human Resources! In her role, Katie will provide a lifecycle of support for employees, including orientation, development and benefits application. She holds a bachelor’s degree from WSU and an MBA from Newman University, where she previously worked as an HR director.

Katie is a Wichita native and has three young boys with her husband, Andrew. They stay busy attending their sons’ sporting events through the seasons and spending time as a family.

When asked about her decision to join the WSU Foundation, Katie said the values resonated strongly with her. “I believe education is very important and I love that we are fundraising money for scholarships and campaigns that will help shape the campus!”

 

Morgan Johnson

Please join us in welcoming Morgan Johnson to the Foundation as the Assistant Director of Development for the College of Fine Arts. In this role, she will connect with donors and provide support and engagement for the college. Morgan, who holds two master’s degrees in Fine Arts from Wichita State, is excited for the opportunity to give back to the college that supported her for so many years.

Morgan’s hobbies include hiking, camping, reading and spending time with her friends and family. She and her husband Kevin have a husky named Nova, who just turned two. In addition to a full social life, Morgan also runs a side business of planning and coordinating weddings and other events.

After working in several different industries, Morgan is excited to be working in her degree field with Fine Arts again.

 

Bryant Tyler

We are excited to welcome Bryant Tyler to the Foundation! Bryant will be working as the Director of Development for the College of Applied Studies. He attended WSU and graduated with his bachelor’s degree in Sports Management and a master’s degree in Education. He previously worked in development at the University of Tulsa where he oversaw athletic fundraising.

Bryant and his wife Maize have two young children, a 4-year-old daughter and newborn son. Bryant enjoys athletics in his free time and plays a variety of recreational sports.

He is excited to make a difference for current and future Shockers at the Foundation. “It’s home for me. I have always thought highly of the Foundation, as a student and as a peer. Being able to come back to my alma mater and work for this great organization is icing on the cake.”
