We do not collect personally identifying information about you when you visit our site, unless you choose to provide such information to us. Providing such information is strictly voluntary. This policy is your guide to how we will handle information we learn about you from your visit to our website.

Use of Links
Throughout our Web pages, we provide links to other servers which may contain information of interest to our readers. We take no responsibility for, and exercise no control over, the organizations, views, or accuracy of the information contained on other servers. Creating a text link from your website to our site does not require permission. If you have a link you’d like us to consider adding to our website, please send an email to foundation@wichita.edu with the subject “Link request.”

Use of Text and Images
If you would like to publish information that you find on our website, please send your request to foundation@wichita.edu. Where text or images are posted on our site with the permission of the original copyright holder, a copyright statement appears at the bottom of the page. Information about using our logo and images is available in Media Resources.

We collect and store only the following information about you: the name of the domain from which you access the Internet (for example, aol.com, if you are connecting from an America Online account, or wichita.edu if you are connecting from Wichita State University’s domain), the date and time you access our site, and the Internet address of the website from which you linked to our site.

We use the information we collect to measure the number of visitors to the different sections of our site, and to help us make our site more useful to visitors.

Online Profile Updates and Donations
If you complete the Profile update form and share your personally identifying information, this information will be used only to provide you with more targeted content. Google AdWords
This website uses the Google AdWords remarketing service to advertise on third party websites (including Google) to previous visitors to our site. Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on someone’s past visits to the WSU Foundation website. Of course, any data collected will be used in accordance with our own privacy policy and Google’s privacy policy.

You can set preferences for how Google advertises to you using the Google Ad Preferences page, and if you want to you can opt out of interest-based advertising entirely by cookie settings or permanently using a browser plugin.

Your confidence in us is essential to the work we do on behalf of the university. We take your right to privacy very seriously and understand that your providing personal information to us is an act of trust.

We recognize that, to merit your continued trust, we must be transparent and accountable in preserving the confidentiality of the personal information we collect and maintain. This Privacy Policy protects your personal information and supplements the donor-privacy protections provided by Kansas law.

We define “personal information” as information that can be used to distinguish, identify or contact a specific individual. It does not include publicly available information such as business contact information, names, addresses, and telephone numbers as published in public sources, such as telephone directories. Our collection, use or disclosure of personal information is limited to purposes related to the business of Wichita State

University Foundation, doing business as Wichita State University Foundation and Alumni Engagement.

We share relevant donor information with representatives of WSU academic units charged with fundraising and donor stewardship duties. Additionally, in certain cases, we may disclose or sell your information to carefully selected third-party companies for the purpose of supporting our non-profit initiatives and programs. These third-party companies may include service providers, partners, or affiliates who assist us in conducting our mission. We ensure that any sharing of your information is done in accordance with applicable laws and regulations, and we take measures to maintain the confidentiality and security of your data. Otherwise, we do not share any of our donor or alumni information.

We honor any donor’s request for anonymity. Donors may choose to opt out of mail, email and/or telephone contact with Wichita State University Foundation.

We collect, use and disclose personal information concerning our donors for the following reasons:

· to establish a relationship and to communicate with donors

· to understand who our donors are and how we may improve our services to meet their preferences and expectations

· to process a donation, for example, to process a credit card transaction

· to issue a tax receipt

· to recognize contributions

· to meet requirements imposed by law

We collect, use and disclose personal information concerning our employees and/or volunteers for the following reasons:

· to recruit, train, recognize and retain highly qualified and motivated employees and volunteers

· to establish and maintain harmonious employer-employee relations

· to administer Wichita State University Foundation policies and procedures

· to administer compensation and benefits

· to meet requirements imposed by law.

We collect, use and disclose personal information concerning our payees and other individuals with whom we have a business relationship for the following reasons:

· to reimburse University clients

· to process payments of invoices

· to meet requirements imposed by law

We continually monitor our practices and procedures to ensure compliance with the principles set out in this policy. We use contractual or other means to provide a comparable level of protection when information has been transferred to a third party for processing, for example a mail processing company or payroll vendor.

Our internal processes protect personal information with safeguards appropriate to the sensitivity of the information. Our safeguards protect against loss or theft, unauthorized access, disclosure, copying, use or modification, regardless of the format in which the information is held. Our employees are required to sign a confidentiality agreement and are repeatedly reminded of the importance of maintaining the confidentiality of personal information. We take great care in the disposal or destruction of documents containing personal information to prevent access by unauthorized parties.

Our methods of protection include physical measures (e.g., shredding, locked file cabinets, restricted access to offices), organizational measures (e.g., background checks on prospective employees, access allowed on a need-to-know

basis), and technological measures (e.g., passwords, data encryption, network firewalls).

Typically, Wichita State University Foundation will seek consent for any use or disclosure of information for any purposes outside of this policy. For example, interviewed applicants will be required to sign consent forms to release information for purposes of a pre-employment background check; and current employees sign a consent form to verify employment to outside organizations.

Online Privacy

To maintain contact with alumni and friends of the university, Wichita State University Foundation manages a website, www.foundation.wichita.edu. In general, users remain anonymous when they visit our website and access information. We do not require passwords, registration or personal information to view our site.

If you make an online gift, we enter the information you provide — excluding your credit card number — into our secure donor database so that we have an accurate record of your gift history and so that you receive appropriate acknowledgement and recognition. We handle changes of name or address records similarly.

Our gift processing department analyzes each online gift to match it with the correct donor. Staff members review name and address information (residence and business) and any comments associated with the gift.

Our website’s online giving pages are secured using industry-standard SSL (Secure Sockets Layer) encryption technology. We have partnered with trusted companies, Blackbaud and iDonate, who employ robust security measures to protect your personal information during the online donation process. Rest assured that your data is encrypted and transmitted securely to maintain the confidentiality and integrity of your donation

Wichita State University Foundation tracks web activity, but we do not collect information that can be traced to a single, personally identifiable individual. We track the “hits” our pages receive, the average time users spend per page and other general, non-personally identifiable information that helps us understand how visitors use the site. If you visit our website and do not voluntarily enter personal information such as your name and e-mail address, we do not track personal information about you. If you voluntarily provide information about yourself to make an online gift or update your address, Wichita State University Foundation securely records that information solely for those purposes.

Your use of the Wichita State University Foundation website signifies your agreement to the terms and conditions of this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree to these terms and conditions, please do not use the site.

Internet technologies evolve constantly, and we may occasionally update this Privacy Policy to reflect new developments. We will post all revisions to this site. A revised Privacy Policy will apply only to data collected subsequent to its effective date.

If you have additional questions or would like more information about our commitment to privacy, contact Susan Barrett, Vice President of Finance and Operations, at 316-978-3810.
