Shocker Post

In 1980-81, I was the dorm director at Brennan Hall, which was coed at the time. The photo I’m sending is a copy of a staff picture from that year. I was very fortunate to work with them and David Meabon in student life and services. It was quite the year for me, coming up to Kansas from Texas and getting married in Grace Memorial Chapel. I returned to work in Houston at the end of that academic year.

1974 CLASS reunion attendees included, from the left, James Gross of Wichita; Steve Molstad, Colby, Kansas; David Fahrbach, Andover, Kansas; David Payne Jr., Chicago; Jean Fahrbach of Andover; Paul Ryberg of Annapolis, Maryland; and Christine Crafford, from Wilmington, North Carolina.

I read the Summer/Fall 2024 issue of The Shocker magazine and was very pleased with the educational content regarding the growth and future plans for the university. I was also very pleased with the overall professional appearance and format of the magazine — really, a first-class production!

In May 2024, I attended the WSUFAE-hosted Golden Grads reunion celebrating the 50th anniversary of my and my fellow 1974 classmates’ graduation from Wichita State. I was happy to see the university looking well-landscaped, with students, faculty and staff all friendly and engaging. I strongly encourage Shocker alumni of all ages to visit the campus, see the university’s growth, and if you can’t get to campus in person, please read and support The Shocker.

I’m already looking forward to reading the next issue.
