Wichita State Tennis Complex
Creating a championship-level tennis facility
Wichita State University is building a six‑acre tennis complex that will elevate its tennis programs, strengthen community engagement, and position Wichita as a national collegiate tennis destination.
The Impact
A state‑of‑the‑art tennis complex elevates Wichita State’s competitive profile, helping attract top‑tier student‑athletes seeking premier training, facilities, and championship‑level opportunities.
Enhanced training environments, advanced performance resources, and purpose‑built competition spaces empower athletes to elevate their game for competition against top programs nationwide.
As part of the Ignite at K‑96 multi‑sport athletic complex, the new tennis facility will serve both Wichita State and the broader region. With expanded opportunities for camps, clinics, and community programs that strengthen WSU’s connection to Wichita.
The Future of WSU Tennis
Designed to NCAA championship standards, the facility will attract top athletes and host major regional and national events. Its championship‑ready design also positions Wichita as a destination for major events, including NCAA regional and national championships, American Conference tournaments and local and regional high school competitions.
Project Highlights & Strategic Partnership
The tennis facility is made possible through a visionary private partnership with Family Destination Development, Wichita’s civic leadership, and Wichita State University. Through this collaboration, the tennis complex is fully funded for land acquisition and construction, which totals an estimate of $18 million.
A world-class lineup of 18 courts, including 12 outdoor and 6 full climate controlled indoor courts, enabling training competition year-round.
Modern locker rooms, dedicated training areas, and advanced recovery spaces will provide student-athletes with the highest level of support to perform.
Purposely designed to host major tournaments, with seating supporting a first-class audience experience.
A full-service pro shop, athlete-centric amenities, and conveniences for all visitors will create a seamless and welcoming experience.
