  • Donor Compliance Coordinator

    The Wichita State University Foundation and Alumni Engagement (WSUFAE) is looking for an organized, detailed oriented individual for our Donor Compliance Coordinator on our finance and operations team. As the Donor Compliance Coordinator, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the integrity and compliance of accounts with donor intent. Your primary responsibilities include serving as the key auditor, overseeing the accounts’ financial activities, and maintaining effective communication channels with various stakeholders. Through meticulous account reviews, reporting, and collaboration with internal teams, you will contribute to the smooth operation of WSUFAE’s financial processes.

    With a team of more than 50 dedicated individuals working to support fundraising and donor and alumni relationships, the WSUFAE is proud to champion the continued growth of Wichita State University.     The ideal candidate should have experience in auditing and data management.

    The job duties for this position include:

    1. Account and Compliance Oversight:
      • Primary auditor of accounts to ensure compliance with donor intent. Gather and record monthly information about the status of accounts.
      • Communicate with development staff, campus administrators, and other team members regarding account issues.
      • Prepare and report on status of audits related to account expenditures. Communicate with development staff any issues regarding donor intent communications.

     

    1. Data Management and Reporting:
      • Perform the monthly account review to ensure that monies expended through the Foundation are being used in accordance with the terms of the accounts.
      • Continually monitor accounts balances, communicating with university staff and tracking and documenting activity until issues are resolved.
      • Works with the team to develop and produce various status reports for the Development Team, Senior Management, etc., as assigned.
      • Collect and enter new and updated account administrators’ signature forms for all foundation accounts, requesting updates from the university as needed.
      • Assist and support other departmental data management and reporting needs, as assigned

     

    1. Gift Agreement Support:
      • Provide fast and accurate support on agreement status inquiries from development staff.
      • Provide information relating to account usage in support of Stewardship Reports
      • Develop and maintain training materials for staff education.

     

    1. Perform any other duties as assigned.

     

    Job Requirements

    • Bachelor’s Degree in finance, accounting, or related field
    • Experience working with information tracking and projects
    • Experience in auditing and preparation of audit reports
    • Commitment to the WSUFAE core values of Integrity, Service, Excellence and Collaboration
    • Project professional image at all times

     

    Skills

    • High level of attention to detail
    • Excellent organizational, interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, and Power Point) and Adobe Acrobat
    • With Excel, you need to be proficient in pivot charts, auditing formulas, data validation, etc.
    • Demonstrated problem-solving and resourcefulness
    • Ability to maintain confidentiality of information, records, and materials
    • Highly motivated and ability to work effectively independently and as part of a team

     

    Physical Requirements

    • Frequent and sudden movements from sitting, standing, bending, reaching, and walking
    • Frequent standing or sitting for prolonged periods
    • Frequent exposure to large crowds, loud noises, and/or bright lights
    • Occasional lifting up to 25 pounds
    • Occasional exposure to outdoors with excessively cold, hot, and/or inclement weather

     

    Preferred Requirements and Skills

    • Data management, process documentation, and/or compliance experience in a higher education setting
    • Database knowledge
    • Knowledge of Wichita State University and a commitment to higher education
