  • Administrative Assistant

    The Wichita State University Foundation is looking to hire a positive, talented, detail-oriented individual as an Administrative Assistant to join our Presidential Support Team. This role will provide support to the Executive Director of Donor Engagement, Executive Assistant and Board Liaison, and the Director of Human Resources. This individual will be assisting with scheduling, providing effective communication through multiple channels, maintain inventory, maintain accurate records, and more.

    With more than 45 staff working in direct fundraising, accounting and gift records, research, communications, donor relations and support roles, the WSU Foundation is the premier fundraising operation in the region. This past fiscal year the WSU Foundation raised more than $60 million. This is an exciting time at WSU with expansion of both programs and facilities.

    Primary Responsibilities include:

    • Assisting with donor recognition and communications via phone, calendar, email, mailings and personal deliveries.
    • Maintaining and managing a donor experience execution calendar.
    • Overseeing the tracking and inventory of donor gifts and print materials.
    • Assisting with scheduling, preparing and executing donor meetings with both internal and external partners (calendar, travel arrangements, food/beverage, etc.).
    • Assisting with the production of written stewardship communication and weekly acknowledgement letters.
    • Assisting with the scheduling, preparation and execution of meetings with both internal and external partners (calendar, travel arrangements, food/beverage, etc.).
    • Opening the suite, greet guests, and set a positive office atmosphere
    • Preparing the President’s Conference Room to include calendar confirmation, catering, setup, and teardown.
    • Supporting administrative needs for team-level, org-wide, or cross-team special projects as assigned.
    • Assisting with the preparation and execution of board meetings and employee-centered events.
    • Submitting requisitions to complete monthly credit card reports and invoices.
    • Assisting with scheduling meetings for both internal and external constituents.
    • Maintaining accurate up-to-date records, contracts, renewals, etc.
    • Assembling, coping, and distributing correspondence and material as necessary, etc.
    • Assisting with recruitment by managing applicants, scheduling interviews, and assisting with the onboarding process.
    • Assisting with other tasks as assigned

     

    Minimum requirements:

    • High School Diploma or Equivalent
    • Prior administrative experience

  • Assistant Director of Development

    The Wichita State University Foundation and Alumni Engagement is looking to hire a talented individual as an Assistant Director of Development with our fundraising team. This position will work toward promoting gifts to benefit the College of Engineering, Applied Studies, and Health Professions. This individual will be responsible for the identification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship of prospective and present donors to Wichita State University.

    With more than 45 staff working in direct fundraising, accounting and gift records, research, communications, donor relations, and support roles, the WSU Foundation is the premier fundraising operation in the region. Last fiscal year the WSU Foundation raised more than $63 million. This is an exciting time at WSU with the expansion of both programs and facilities.

    The job duties for this position include:

    • Responsible for major gift ($50,000+) fund-raising through outright gifts, pledges, or deferred gift instruments in coordination with position metrics. Position Metrics include in-person visits, meaningful contacts, proposals, planned gifts, and dollars raised.
    • Collaborate with other development staff on joint cultivation and stewardship efforts.
    • Be the secondary liaison between assigned college(s)/departments and the Foundation by coordinating prospect identification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship with the college dean(s).
    • Represent the Foundation by attending appropriate University events and functions.
    • Work with prospect research in the identification and the research of potential donors and the development of prospect information.
    • Develop and manage annual fundraising activities and professional development. Develop annual goals and objectives in conjunction with college dean(s).
    • Maintain accurate computer and paper files as necessary.
    • Perform other duties as assigned.

     

    Minimum requirements for the position include:

    • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution required
    • Must be willing to travel with occasional weekend and evening work
    • Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license and insurance

  • Associate Director of Data Integrity

    The Wichita State Foundation is looking for an Associate Director of Data Integrity to join its prospect research team.

    In this position, you’ll play a vital part in monitoring and maintaining the integrity and accuracy of our database that informs and supports the work of the Wichita State University Foundation and Alumni Engagement. Working within Raiser’s Edge, this position will maintain a systematic approach to keeping records accurate and be responsible for data maintenance efforts. This position will also provide accurate mailing and email lists as needed. This position will exemplify the Foundation’s core values and represent WSU Foundation and Wichita State University in a professional manner creating a positive image with all constituencies. On a typical day, you can expect to do investigative research, data collection, and financial and statistical analysis.

    Primary responsibilities include:

    • Responsible for the overall integrity of the database through proactive database cleanup.
    • Build mailing, email, and prospect lists for Foundation and Alumni Engagement staff, utilizing these lists to update the database as needed.
    • Process alumni and donor record updates in a timely manner.
    • Utilize AlumniFinder and LinkedIn to update alumni and donor records.
    • Assist in prospect development efforts, adding attributes, constituent codes, and other data points as needed for complete record keeping and prospect segmenting.
    • Perform additional duties as assigned

     

    Required skills:

    • Bachelor’s degree from accredited institution
    • 1-3 years of related experience
    • Knowledge of CRM database management systems, with preference to Blackbaud experience
    • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously with accuracy and consistency
    • High level of attention to detail, accuracy, and thoroughness
    • Proficient in MSWord, Excel, PowerPoint, and have the ability and curiosity to learn new software systems

  • Associate/Director/Senior Director of Development - Dallas/Ft. Worth

    The Wichita State University Foundation and Alumni Engagement is excited to expand our development team! We are actively searching for an experienced fundraiser living in the Dallas/Ft. Worth area to join our team as Director of Development. Reporting to the Vice President, this position will be responsible for the identification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship of prospective and present donors to Wichita State University (WSU). Primary operations will be out of a home-office with frequent in-person and group interactions with WSU donors and alumni across the Dallas/Ft. Worth area. The Director of Development will represent goals of the WSU Foundation in supporting the students and programs of the university. Under the leadership of WSU’s President, Dr. Rick Muma, the university is experiencing extraordinary growth with record enrollment, innovative programs, and an expanding campus footprint. The WSU Foundation engages alumni and friends of WSU in private gifts supporting student scholarships, faculty research funds, and capital projects. The Foundation just completed our second highest fundraising year ever with more than $63 million raised in FY22. With around 50 staff under the long-term leadership of Dr. Elizabeth King, the WSU Foundation is a highly professional, respected, and effective fundraising operation. On the heels of university growth and fundraising success, the WSU Foundation is in the planning phase for our next comprehensive campaign.
