The first brick pavers were inscribed in the walkway in 2017. Since then, new brick installations have been made annually. Inscriptions range from commemorative bricks for favorite professors and classmates who left their marks decades ago, to inspirational messages for future Shockers. Lydia Leija 13’/14′, for instance, purchased a brick for her son. It’s inscription is YOU CAN DO ANYTHING, SON.

Support your alma mater

Open not only to WSU grads and alumni but to all Shockers, faculty and university friends, the Shocker Alumni Walkway project is a revenue-generating program that supports the WSUFAE’s diverse programming and outreach efforts, assisting the organization in realizing its mission to “elevate, celebrate and advance Wichita State University through engagement and philanthropy.”
