Engineering

At Wichita State University, an engineering education exists far beyond the classroom. Students are able to bring their skills to the real world through a variety of hands-on experiences, and your support ensures these opportunities continue.

One such opportunity is WSU’s Engineers Without Borders program, which helps students apply their education through problem solving. Recently, one group of students helped design and construct a pedestrian bridge for a small community in Ecuador: an applied learning experience like no other.

Another hands-on experience is Shocker Racing, a student-run organization dedicated to designing, manufacturing, building and competing race cars in competitions across the country. There are currently two main teams in Shocker Racing, the formula SAE team and the off-road Baja team.

Your support helps give our students these amazing opportunities. Or, if you’d like to make a gift to the engineering college as a whole, the Shocker Fund for the College of Engineering will help provide the resources that lead to excellence both in the classroom and after graduation.
