A. Edward Clifford Endowed Geology Fund 1993 Undergraduate Program Student Scholarship
A. Edward Clifford was born in Covington, Okla., in 1933. His family relocated to Wichita, Kan., in the mid-1940s. Mr. Clifford graduated from Wichita University in 1954 with a Bachelor of Science in geology, concentrating in geophysics. After graduation, he joined the United States Navy. Following his two years of active duty in the Navy, he became employed by Exxon. A resident of New Orleans, La., Mr. Clifford retired from Exxon after 30 years as a geophysicist. Geology was his passion and he contributed for many years to the geology department at WSU. Through his estate as a planned gift, the A. Edward Clifford Endowed Geology Fund was established after Mr. Clifford’s death in 2004.
