AEGD Resident Professional Development Fund

This fund was established in 2009 by William Cox, a 1985 international studies graduate of Wichita State University. Mr. Cox lives in Austin, Texas, and works as a procurement analyst with the U.S. Department of Veterans’ Affairs. He completed his master’s degree in acquisition management from American Graduate University. While a student at Wichita State, he received a full scholarship and made it a point to get involved in student activities, even though he was a commuter student. He is a life member of the WSU Alumni Association and the Society of 1895, which recognizes those who establish estate gifts benefitting Wichita State. Mr. Cox says he established this fund because of his pride that WSU houses the first dental education program in Kansas and the importance of AEGD to oral health in Kansas. In an attempt to ‘give back’ to Wichita State for the full-ride scholarships he had as a student, Mr. Cox calculated the amount of those scholarships to determine his donation to the AEGD fund. Awards from this fund are used to provide professional development for AEGD residents.
