Barbara and Pete Bassi Study Abroad Scholarship

Barbara graduated from Wichita State University in 1972 with a bachelor’s degree in secondary education. While a student, she served for five years as the student assistant to then-President Clark Ahlberg. She also was involved in the Student Activities Council. Pete is the retired president and chairman of Yum Restaurants International. He was the featured speaker in 2013 for the James P. Schwartz Lecture Series at Wichita State. Barbara and Pete met when they both worked for Pizza Hut Corporate in Wichita. They live in California and travel extensively. They created this fund to provide scholarships for study abroad opportunities for students in the W. Frank Barton School of Business.
