Benjamin J. and Bettie M. Gibson Breeding Wichita North High School Scholarship

Mrs. Breeding began attending the University of Wichita in 1952 and completed her bachelor of business administration in 1962, taking classes primarily at night during that time. She worked with the Internal Revenue Service in the Kansas City area while Mr. Breeding worked as a building inspector. Both were strong supporters of Wichita State and the W. Frank Barton School of Business. Mrs. Breeding died in 2008 and Mr. Breeding died in 2013.

This fund was established to provide scholarships for WSU students majoring in business. It was the Breedings’ preference that awards be made to graduates of Wichita North High School who attend Wichita State. The Breedings established a second scholarship for business students and also endowed a fund to bring to campus distinguished speakers from the fields of government, business and education.
