Beverly Neal Shea Scholarship
Ms. Shea received her bachelor’s degree from Oberlin Conservatory and a master’s degree in music from Wichita State University. She has been a harpist for the Youngstown Symphony in Ohio and for Broadway musicals in New York City. She taught piano at Morningside College in Sioux City, Iowa, Cleveland Institute of Music in Ohio and Manhattan School of Music in New York. She also taught piano privately in New York and New Jersey. Ms. Shea has been president of the Piano Teachers Congress of New York, the Music Educators Association of New Jersey and the Musical Club of Westfield, N.J. She also served on the executive boards of those organizations. Ms. Shea established this scholarship to provide financial assistance to students studying music in the WSU College of Fine Arts.
