Bob and Pat White Scholarship in Accounting

Bob M. White graduated from Wichita State University with a Bachelor of Business Administration in accounting in 1971 and a Master of Business Administration in 1976. He began his career at Garvey International in 1969 while attending WSU. Thirteen years later, he became president and, in 1996, he bought the company, changing its name to White International. In lieu of his accomplishments in business, Mr. White was recognized in the WSU Entrepreneurship Hall of Fame and was the 104th WSU Commencement speaker in December 2001. He is a past member of the WSU Alumni Association’s board of directors and received that organization’s Alumni Achievement Award in 2006. He is a member of the WSU Foundation’s National Advisory Council.

Pat White also attended WSU in the early 1970s and had her own tax practice for many years. Mr. and Mrs. White were active with the Crow Canyon Archaeological Center, which helps advance archeological research, education and partnerships with American Indians.

For more than 25 years, Mr. and Mrs. White’s support for WSU has been reflected in their university involvement and philanthropy. They are both life members of the Alumni Association, as well as Fairmount Society Life Members. In 2004, they established the Bob and Pat White Endowed Scholarship in Business in 2004. In 2009, they endowed the Bob and Pat White Fellowship in Accounting.
