Bob Gutschenritter Scholarship in Accounting

Mr. Gutschenritter graduated from Wichita State University in 1970 with a Bachelor of Business Administration and earned a master’s degree in accounting in 1975. During his undergraduate years, he was recognized as Outstanding Junior in the College of Business Administration and Outstanding Senior in Accounting. Mr. Gutschenritter received his license as a Certified Public Accountant in 1972.

While pursuing his master’s degree, Mr. Gutschenritter was also an instructor in the Accountancy Department at WSU. He gained valuable experience while working for KPMG, Unrau and Regier, and Smith and Russell. He established his own firm in 1977.

Among his many achievements, Mr. Gutschenritter was appointed by President George W. Bush to serve on the National Republican Congressional Committee’s Business Advisory Council as a tax advisor from 2001 to 2008. He also served on the board of directors for the American Heart Association, WSU Alumni Association and Guadalupe Clinic. He retired from Gutschenritter and Johnson LLC in 2012 to spend time with his family, enjoy golfing and keep up with his favorite college and professional sports teams.
