Brenton D. Myers graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering from the University of
Wichita in 1958. Brenton was employed in a variety of jobs in the engineering industry and concluded his
working career in airport planning and development with the Kansas City, Missouri, Aviation Department.

The Brenton Myers Innovation in Engineering Education Award was established to motivate, encourage and
incentivize faculty members in all departments to acquire the skills and tools to teach innovation to aspiring engineers. Innovative and creative faculty members who evolve and grow with the times will succeed in reaching, influencing and inspiring the bright young minds they encounter. It was Brenton’s hope that those students will make a difference in our world.
