Buck Alley Scholarship in Track and Field
Mr. K.C. ‘Buck’ Alley and his wife, Mrs. Gladys Alley, have supported Wichita State University for many years. Mr. Alley grew up in Wichita, Kan., and attended the University of Wichita in 1947 where he competed and lettered in track.
Upon leaving the university Mr. Alley worked in the lumber business for several years until opening his own lumber yard in Kechi, Kan. He sold the company in 1982 and started his own business focused on home and commercial building, land development and commercial leasing.
Mr. and Mrs. Alley have supported projects at Wichita State University such as the Roundhouse Renaissance Campaign, the Shocker Athletic Scholarship Organization, Battery for Baseball and the College of Health Professions through the WSU Foundation Annual Fund. They are WSU Alumni Association Life Members, receiving the Alumni Recognition Award in 1996 as well as an award for Alumni Association Volunteers of the Year. Both have served on the WSU Alumni Board of Directors.
To make a donation that would endure for generations, Mr. and Mrs. Alley established the Buck Alley Scholarship in Track and Field in 2011.
