C. Laurin and Helen H. Sandberg Endowed Basketball Scholarship

Mr. and Mrs. C. Laurin Sandberg were major supporters of Wichita State University athletics. Mr. Sandberg was a special auditor with the Santa Fe Trail Transportation Co. for several years, and Mrs. Helen Sandberg was an executive secretary with A.W. Soderburg Construction Co. Mr. Sandberg died in 1990 at the age of 87 and Mrs. Sandberg, thereafter, in 1998. Mrs. Sandberg’s sisters, Ms. Lucille Kraft and Ms. Susan Kraft, established the C. Laurin and Helen H. Sandberg Endowed Basketball Scholarship in their memory. ‘They were such loyal fans of both basketball and baseball said Ms. Lucille Kraft. ‘They had season tickets for years and were also members of the Shocker Club each year. I think this scholarship would please them so much.’
