Southcentral Pathology Medical Laboratory Sciences Scholarship

Dr. Joel Alderson, president of Southcentral Pathology in Wichita, established this fund in 2021 to provide two full-ride scholarships each year in WSU’s Medical Laboratory Sciences program. This is the largest scholarship donation to the program. Southcentral Pathology was established in 1989 to provide pathology services in Wichita and surrounding communities. After noticing a shortage of medical technologists in the region, Southcentral Pathology endowed this scholarship with the hope of encouraging individuals to pursue degrees in the field. Through this scholarship, Southcentral Pathology hopes to help reverse the shortage of medical technologists while also giving back to its community.
