Susan M. Clark Memorial Scholarship
Just like her father, Glenn Clark, Susan M. Clark received a bachelor’s degree and a master’s degree in music from Wichita State University. While a student, Mrs. Clark received a scholarship but still had to work part-time jobs to finance her education. Her primary instrument was viola. In high school, Mrs. Clark played with the American Youth Performs group in Carnegie Hall as well as Constitution Hall in Washington D.C. She won the Lincoln Center Award when she was a senior in high school.
After graduating from Wichita State, Mrs. Clark taught elementary school orchestra for the Derby school district. Later, she moved to Amarillo, Texas, where she played with the Amarillo Symphony. While in Texas, she earned a Ph.D. in psychology from North Texas State. This scholarship was created in Mrs. Clark’s memory. It provides award to WSU students who play stringed instruments.
