Susan M. Kraft Memorial Scholarship
Publications editor and coordinator for the office of University Communications for 13 years, Susan Metzner Kraft developed a strong relationship with WSU and filled the campus with her enthusiasm and determination. Athletic and fiercely competitive, she won the American Amateur Racquetball ’40 and over’ National Championship in 1984. She shared a passion for life and the world around her with friends and colleagues until her untimely death in 1985. In her memory, friends and family established the Susan M. Kraft Memorial Scholarship, which is awarded to a female student athlete. Honored in the Plaza of Heroines, a racquetball court located in the Heskett Center bears her name in remembrance as well.
