The Leland R. Anderson Endowed Baseball Scholarship
Born in Wichita, Kansas, Leland Anderson was a graduate of West High School. He earned his business administration degree in accounting from Wichita University in 1961. A former executive of Wausau Insurance, he became senior vice president of Marsh and McLennan Inc., a major insurance brokerage firm, in San Francisco, California. An avid sports fan, with a cat named ‘shocker he established The Leland R. Anderson Endowed Baseball Scholarship in 1994 for a member of the Shocker baseball team enrolled in the W. Frank Barton School of business. Alumni Association and President’s Club Life member, Mr. Anderson passed away in 2001.
