Tom Vanderhoofven Athletic Endowed Scholarship

Tom Vanderhoofven graduated from the University of Wichita with a Bachelor of Arts degree in 1962. Subsequently, he became very involved with WSU athletics and the Alumni Association. Throughout the 1960s, he was the university’s sports information director and later served on the SASO Board of Directors. Mr. Vanderhoofven supported WSU largely through the Alumni Association with much of his generosity aimed specifically towards Shocker baseball. Mr. Vanderhoofven and his wife, Anne, along with the Vander-Roofven Company Inc. contributed to the Baseball Stadium Renovation Project, the Baseball Shocker All American Club, the Golden Glove Award and the Employee Recognition for Baseball fund. Mr. Vanderhoofven passed away in May 1999. Mrs. Vanderhoofven continues to support WSU.

In honor of Mr. Vanderhoofven, Kelly and Jon Callen established this scholarship.
