Vera and Skip Skelton Endowed Scholarship in Health Professions

Mack W. and Ira Dean Worden attended the University of Wichita in the late 1930s. The two brothers roomed together under the care of Vera and Skip Skelton. Mr. and Mrs. Skelton’s inexpensive room and board played a necessary role in the Wordens’ ability to afford college and earn their degrees in 1940 and 1943, respectively.

Upon the Skeltons passing, Mack Worden established two scholarships in memory of them: the Vera and Skip Skelton Endowed Scholarship in Liberal Arts and Sciences and the Vera and Skip Skelton Endowed Scholarship in Health Professions. ‘I could have never gone to the university without help, especially from the Skeltons. In this small way, I hope to make a lasting √´Legacy of Love’ to these very generous loving persons.’
