Wayne Pfeiffer Scholarship in Mathematics
Dr. Pfeiffer is a distinguished scientist with the San Diego Supercomputer Center. He received a bachelor’s degree from Wichita State University in 1965, majoring in mathematics with minors in physics and German. He graduated summa cum laude at the age of 18. Dr. Pfeiffer earned a Ph.D. in engineering science from the California Institute of Technology in 1969. He has done research and development in nuclear engineering, plasma physics, computer performance analysis and genomics and has published extensively throughout his career. He is an avid outdoorsman and enjoys activities such as running, cycling, mountain climbing and skiing. He established this scholarship to help WSU students majoring in mathematics.
