Wichita Independent Business Association Scholarship

The Wichita Independent Business Association (WIBA) is an elite group of privately owned businesses within the Wichita community. Their main purpose is to serve the interests of independent enterprise. Members range from an individual sole proprietor operating a home-based business to large corporations with thousands of employees.

WIBA was established in 1931 on the founding principle of buying local. This became the basis of their opening theme. Today, WIBA’s brand is ‘Connect to Success encouraging members to do business with other members. There are currently more than 400 business members representing about 200 industries. With membership, organizations receive business growth assistance, networking events and opportunities, continuing education and political advocacy.

In 2011, the Wichita Independent Business Association Scholarship was established at Wichita State University to aid members and dependents of WIBA.
