ShockertoberFest

Shocktoberfest has been Wichita State’s annual fall celebration of Shocker Spirit since 1991, featuring a multi-day series of events, activities and competitions that bring together students, faculty, staff, alumni and the Wichita community.

This campus-wide initiative is hosted by a variety of student groups and departments, including the WSU Foundation and Alumni Engagement, University Athletics, and the Division of Student Affairs.

The Toast: A Graduation Celebration

Along with the Division of Student Affairs, we want to celebrate YOU and your years of hard work and dedication to your goal of graduating from WSU and officially becoming an alumni.

Attending graduates will receive a commemorative WSU champagne flute following a brief program presented by President Muma, Vice President of Student Affairs, Teri Hall and Vice President of Alumni Engagement, Stacie Williamson.

Alumni Awards

Each year, one alumni is recognized for the prestigious Alumni Achievement Award at the Heritage Gala with the other awards from the program’s history: the Social Impact Award (formerly, Recognition Award) which comments those who better their community through service or philanthropy, and the Young Alumni Award, given to an alumnus 35 or younger who demonstrates excellent leadership in their chosen profession.

This tradition of elevating and celebrating Shockers that are making a difference in their communities harks back to 1955
